What is CBD resin or CBD Hash?
CBD resin or CBD hash, also known as “hashish“, is a substance highly concentrated in cannabidiol. It is a brown, sticky or sandy material produced from the extraction of pollen (trichomes) and terpenes from the female CBD cannabis flowers.
CBD hemp resin or CBD hash has been produced for thousands of years. Different production methods are used by CBD producers:
– One of these methods is to let the CBD flower dry before hitting it to filter it through several sieves. This technique is a way of recovering the cannabinoids and terpenes that have passed through the sieves: the “kief”. It is by compacting the “kief” or pollen that CBD resin or hash is obtained.
– Another method has its origins in India and Pakistan. Before harvesting, growers rub the hemp flowers with their hands and then collect the pollen inside. The resulting resin is called charas: a very sticky, dark-coloured CBD resin.
– The final process for producing CBD resin is to freeze the hemp flowers and leaves before placing them in cold water with ice cubes. By mixing, the cannabinoids and terpenes are released from the plant. CBD producers then filter the water to obtain pure pollen, which they then compress into CBD resin.
